Do you need help preparing or lodging your Business Activity Statement?

Preparing and lodging Business Activity Statement return can be a challenging task, particularly if you have recently commenced a business or don't use a computerised accounting system.

The due date for lodging and paying will be printed on your BAS, but as a guide, if you report monthly the first two months of each quarter are due on the 21st of the following month. But the last end-of-quarter month is due on particular dates, as follows:

Quarter Due Date
1 - July, August and September 28 October
2 - October, November and December 28 February
3 - January, February and March 28 April
4 - April, May and June 28 July

Please Note: If a standard due date falls on a weekend or a public holiday, treat the deadlines as being the next business day.

Your activity statement is used to report (where applicable) your obligations for:

  • deferred company instalments
  • goods and services tax (GST)
  • fuel tax credits
  • fringe benefits tax (FBT) instalments,
  • luxury car tax (LCT)
  • pay-as-you-go (PAYG) withholding and instalments and
  • wine equalisation tax (WET).

We put together all your transactions for the quarter and prepare a summary BAS for your review. We then carefully examine the records, ensuring all GST input credits are recorded before preparing a final Business Activity Statement. A qualified Accountant then checks the BAS for accuracy and then we can either lodge it for you or you can lodge your BAS

If you haven't completed your BAS, the most important thing to do is to relieve yourself of the stress and contact us ASAP. The ATO has the power to penalise you between $110 to $550 for each BAS outstanding however the sooner you act, the less likely you will be penalised.

We can systematically prepare each BAS return for you and where necessary, contact the ATO and explain your circumstances and advise them that we are working towards having all the BAS returns lodged.
